I watched a video by Dr. Olaby illustrates how to prepare defense presentation slides. It was a game - changer for me. It saved me a significant amount of time and instilled the confidence that I was not overlooking any crucial aspect of my research. In the one - on - one mentor session, we discussed the slides in - dep th, what to present and how to present, and what to skip to give the committee a chance to ask me about and answer confidently. “The mock thesis was the most helpful service that enabled me to succeed in my defense. The discussion was great and it was a very special day for me. Everyone was happy with the presentati on and commented on the coordination and the information added that it was consistent and integrated. Having heard very positive impressions about Reem from a mutual colleague, we were delighted when she agreed to join us as a plenary speaker as part of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) professional development workshop day for school leaders and managers. Her topic? How to have difficult conversations at work. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Reem at the Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp in Cambridge, MA. I have worked with Reem Al Olaby advising her and a group of cohorts designing a project of her own initiative. I have found Reem to be energetic, proactive and highly driven. It was entitled Emotional Intelligence and, in the short 2.5 hour session, we had a whistle-stop tour to gain useful techniques to control stress and create closer relationships in our own and professional lives.
